Wolfsmund by ArC

If you’re a fans of Periphery, Tesseract, Novelists or Killswitch Engage then you guys might like this homegrown Djent/Metalcore band from Kuala Lumpur. Some of you might know them as A Ruthless Cleansing back in the old days but since the changes of their current lineup the bands decide to rebrand the band names to a simpler way ArC. Today, we’re here not going to talk about the history of the band itself but instead we’re talking about their new release titled the “Wolfsmund”.

“Wolfsmund is about politics, pride, corruption, and growing mistrust of the system. It also uses GoT inspired imagery for the lyrics including a homage to the Rains of Castamere – “and who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low” said Scott Vocalist for ArC.

Their latest offering it’s totally different compared from their previous released so far. The band is currently in process of writing for their upcoming album and maybe in the near future we could listen more of ArC new stuff soon.

UNDERCOVER x VANS VAULT

Jun Takahashi’s Japanese imprint UNDERCOVER is teaming up with Vans Vault for it two unique takes atop both the Vans Era and Vans Old Skool. UNDERCOVER keeps things simple this time around, as the Vans Old Skool will definitely warrant most of the attention here thanks to a classic canvas construction featuring a pink rose print in either grey or bordeaux colour ways. Premium hits of suede hit the toecap while a leather form stripe adds a lifestyle finish to the skate icon. The UNDERCOVER Vans Era LX comes in either black or red but with one major twist: rock band Temple’s “Shelter Song” lyrics are printed on the forefoot reading “Take me in time, time to the music/ Take me away to the twilight zone”.

The UNDERCOVER x Vans Collection slated to release this Saturday, on February 4th 2017 at Sole What The Gardens and Sole What One Utama. The UNDERCOVER Vans Old Skool set to retail at RM599.00, while the UNDERCOVER Vans Era LX set at RM499.00. Both designs are available in Men & Women’s sizes too.

*This shoe DOES NOT contains pigskin material.

adidas Ultra Boost 3.0 “Mandarin Green” Custom

Using the adidas Ultra Boost 3.0 “Trace Cargo” Military Green LTD as the base for this custom, local sneaker enthusiast Edmond Looi pays tribute to the Chinese New Year festive season with this “Mandarin Green” custom. The concept was inspired by the mandarin orange plant that is usually passed around as gifts during the festive season.

What a cool and creative way to usher in the Lunar New Year, ‘sneakerhead’ style.

adidas Officially Launches The EQT Collection In Malaysia

The Three Stripes brand have been hitting hard on the EQT line for the past few months, and finally, after looking at countless pictures online, the EQT line has finally landed on Malaysian Soil. The line was initially launched back in 1991, with the idea of doing things totally different from anything that was ever done before, keeping it minimal, less colourful, less commercial, and totally focusing on the function. Hence the tagline, “Everything that is essential, nothing that is not.”

This year, adidas is relaunching the line with a few adjustments done to the design to suite the current times. From what we were told, it is rumoured that adidas will be focusing a lot on the EQT line this year. So stay tune for more EQT goodies to appear throughout the year.

Patriots – “Patriots” Music Video

Once again, homegrown underground post-hardcore/pop mosh band Patriots have finally shown that they’re capable of living up to their concept after the release of “Fallen” and “Terranova”. Shah Alam-based band has yet dropped another music video for their self-titled track, “Patriots”.

The self-titled track is an emotional tribute to their struggle as patriots of the music scene, having performed under a different name as Heart A-Tack. The video was actually a compilation of their journey so far as Patriots – including their last year’s Indonesian tour alongside a couple of short tribute clips to their Heart A-Tack days.

Happy Ending (Dae’s Homework) – Okamotonoriaki

They say that a person’s view on things is a result of their nature and nurture. Looking at the world through this kaleidoscope of sounds.

Dae Kim, born in Korea and raised in Malaysia, introduces his own re-worked version of mü-nest frontier artist Okamotonoriaki’s well-known track titled “Happy Ending”.

“At certain times, different artists share quite a comparative opinions towards topics. However, I do believe that the best work of remix hails from the minimal differences of the artists’ taste.” said Dae.

This young prodigy’s work for the remix might capture similar serendipity with the original track. The song is quite susceptible to sappy tendencies and rather pop infused at times. The rhythms are the decorations rather than the element that carries the songs’ momentum, when rather the melodies’ and musical notes create flows and rhythm for the listeners to hold on to. Reminiscing poem subtly lies within the layers of synthesizers whispering what a happy ending is to the author: “The best shortcut is noticing the person who understands and reads the things that can be understood, seen and known.”

Perhaps, the happiest ending possible in our life is in us. To truly understand the things and ourselves that lies ahead of us.
