POOP Volume 1 – Book Launching & Exhibition

In collaboration with AWAS!: A Week of Animation Shorts, Huaguoshan is hosting a book launching & exhibition event at 無限發掘 (FINDARS) called POOP, a magazine by a group of local independent artist. Featuring most of independent and experimental comics, the artists that are involved in this exhibition are Amin Landak, Anti Poet Dying Fantasy, Bobo Hiew, Cent, Harubukuro Sansiro, Hippotitis, Lai Rong Quan and Willwin Yang. The opening event will take place on this coming Saturday, 5th of March 2016 from 3PM to 10 PM and after the launch, the event will still run on a daily basis till 19th of March 2016, from 11AM till 8PM (closed on Monday).  Admission is free for everyone and there will be a guest music performances by Shoupihou, plus a whole bunch of awesome people hanging out with you guys under one roof!

RATED Present Their 2016 Spring And Summer “POPCVLT” Colection

BeatNation Presents : Level Up With Felix Zenger

For those of you who are interested in the beatboxing scene, we are here to tell you a great news! It’s with great pleasure to announce that BeatNation will be having the innovative beatboxer of the world, Felix Zenger in Malaysia for the first time! With over 44 million play on his youtube channel, applauded by the world renowned Pharell Williams, released his debut album Won’t Say A Thing, Felix Zenger, the unparelled beatboxer of Finland and possibly the world, will be making his debut show live on the 18th of March in Makespace KL from 10pm to 12am. Besides that, before his live show starts,   there will also be a 2 hour workshop where for him to share his professional insights on taking a career in beatboxing, techniques and sharing sessions with all!

Raksasa Print Studio Present A.W.A.S !

On 9th to 13th March AWAS! Also know as “A Week Of Animation Shorts” offers almost 50 movies from more than 20 countries, featured in 5 programmes. “Recycling” is a collective effort involving ten European animators, “Animated World” and “AnimAsia” will offer some of the best recent shorts from around the world and Asia, where’s their special guest Andrea Martignoni will present a programme featuring movies he has worked on as sound designer/composer in the past 10 years. Finally, the closing evening will feature a special screening of the very first Chinese feature-length animation movie, “Princess Iron Fan”, with live soundtrack provided by the finest of Kuala Lumpur’s improvisers.

Two exhibitions of both Malaysian and international illustrators/comic artists/animators as well as a workshop on Sound Design for Animation Shorts complete the programme of what we sincerely hope will become an annual rendezvous for animation fans.

The prices for the tickets:-
RM 15 per screening – can be purchased at the door for each screening.

RECAP : SBTG ‘Destroy To Create’ Exhibition

Last Friday, we had the honor to be invited to SBTG’S ‘Destroy To Create’ exhibition at Cover, Sunway Pyramid. We got to check out his customized Vans sneakers and also meet Mr. Sabotage also known as Mark Ong in person. There was a great crowd as the people were very much anticipating Mr Sabotage’s arrival.  Many people went up to Mr Sabotage to get their sneakers signed. If you missed out on this event, don’t fret because we captured some pictures from the event for you! Detailed Look at Cover X Sbtg “Anarchy and Chaos” Collection.

After the it’s reveiling from Cover and Sbtg, we now have a better look at the customized Vans Old School and Ski8-Hi for “Anarchy and Chaos” collection.

Our very own Malaysia multi label fashion store “Cover by Crossver” teamed up with Singapore based artist, Sbtg for this collection. Taking heavy design cues from the Sbtg’s signature camo print and skeleton accent to spice up the shoe.

They were sold in RM699 each on event day, limited to 6 pairs each. Catch the detail looks at the photo above.

Maddthelin Latest Album The “Ascension”

I still remember the first time I started listening to his band back in 2011 when they released their first music video for “Dawn Of Tomorrow” on Hitz Astro Music Video Grant Award which was Direct / Produced by Khairil M Bahar from Low Angle Production. A six piece of post hardcore band from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia formed in 2008 by Izzul, Danial, Yasmin, Lenny and Asyraf and was later joined by Adiel as the drummer in 2010. The band went on tour play countless of major festival showcasing their music throughout Asia and released their second music video “Forfeit” which was a compilation from their previous tour in 2012. In 2014, Yasmin announced her part ways with the band because of her personal issue the band had to sort out a new solution to find a suitable replacement for her and that’s where Kareema filled in the missing piece in the band as the keyboardist / vocalist and provide a totally different dimension to their music. After a few changes in the line up, in the year 2015 the band has released a single “Perplexity” and also a music video which was taken from their debut album titled “Acension“. Maddthelin deliver a mixture of post-hardcore & screamo elements in their music with their signature blend of screams and catchy choruses which mainly influenced by bands such as Eyes Set to Kill, One OK Rock and Pierce The Veil.

This year, on February 2016 the band has announced the released of their debut album “Ascension” with a total of nine tracks which include seven new material and a two old songs. The album was produced by Maddthelin and Nash Muhandes the man who engineered, mixed and mastered the album. Their album art cover and the designed layout was done by Izzul(Guitarist) himself.

For their upcoming shows Maddthelin will be having their “Ascension Showcase” around March 27th at KL Venue, Fahrenheit88. So for those who are interested you are welcome to join them on that day with an opening act by our awesome locals band Tres Empre, The Padangs, Kids On The Move and Red Ruby Avengers. The price for the pre-sale ticket is around RM25 you may need to contact their agent and as for the door ticket the price is around RM35.

Hi guys, feel free to check out this hilarious animation by Hyrul Anuar, a young Fabrica resident from Malaysia to celebrate Mother’s Day 2015. Hyrul produced this animation as a tribute to his late mother who passed away 5 years ago. This video was made to reminisce all the good memories he had with her, all the arguments they had and most of them were usually funny. He would like to share this story with everyone else in the world.
