OBSCR Tribute Collection : ‘What is Football?’

In conjunction with the launch of OBSCR’s second collection entitled ‘Tribute’, the OBSCR team has shot a short film to express what football is and how it revolves around life. In this short film, they follow the journey of John who resides in the UK and got him to share his feelings about football.

The core of the second collection is to deliver both football and military inspired stories into one. They amplify and bring the essence of vintage yet stylish garments, creating an off and on-pitch identity for athletes. The ‘Tribute’ collection is made to pay homage and respect to those who have taken street wear and football to where it is today.

“State In Motion” : Photographer @Bryzoid Goes On A Nature Roadtrip

I’m on a binge of exploration this year. I’ve already amassed over 6,000 kilometres on the road last year, crossing several countries and seen some of the most amazing sceneries in South East Asia during my journey for #8TVFourByFour. It’s always a blessing to get back on the road for another adventure and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to be a volunteer photographer for TRCRC (Tropical Rainforest Conservation & Research Centre). They are a NGO who focuses on cultivating a society who values nature and it’s importance in our world.

Recently, TRCRC and me embarked on a road trip through the Northern states, to showcase the people and places we work with, and the connection TRCRC forms to work towards conservation. Our trip takes us from the east coast, through rainforests, and up the Titiwangsa Range. Along the way we met people whose homes were devastated by floods, NGOs trying to reconnect wildlife corridors, small businesses wanting to help out, ecologists working towards protecting the Rafflesia and outdoor enthusiasts who just want to contribute to the landscapes they play in.

Moving through the states, on the road, you can really get a real feel of how culturally diverse Malaysia can be. But what’s more interesting, is that the people we meet along the way who all share deep understanding for these wild places, and the urgent need to protect them. And this is how meaningful partnerships are formed – on the ground, sharing a meal in remote places, having a conversation about conservation.

Every journey is unique and to me the most important element is the experience and stories you obtain. On this journey with the guys of TRCRC, it was an eye opening experience for me to understand how crucial nature is to the world and the people who are affected from natural disasters. It struck me that we are often too pampered and comfortable in the city and we take everything for granted. Camping and connecting with nature really changes the perspective of life. It broadens your view in culture, art and you as an individual- your thoughts, personality and values. Disconnected from the world, you have all the time to focus on yourself and change for a better good. Along the journey, I’ve seen a lot of amazing views and all I can think of is to appreciate God’s creation.

As a creative person, the way to stay inspired is to open your mind and heart to new environments. To be creative, it’s like a chemical reaction where a fresh surrounding will trigger the imaginative mind. Life is all about staying curious because curiosity is like a compass that leads us to our passion and discover our true potential. Keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things because you’ll never know where it might lead you.

Stay tuned to this site as I will be updating you guys on a weekly basis in more details on each location I’ve recently visited on this roadtrip.

Stay curious, stay creative, stay hungry!

Have a Close Look at Nike’s LunarEpic Flyknit

Featuring a revolutionary mid-height collar design and a new tooling system, the LunarEpic Flyknit offers a virtually vanishing fit, fluid feel and superior softness. The conception of the LunarEpic Flyknit began over 18 months ago with the contemplation of a global football boot. Taking insight from Nike’s Magista — which allows the foot, ankle and lower leg to work together as a single unit to emphasize natural movement and a feeling of fluidity — the company’s running designers set out to create a shoe that imparted this same sensation, while still serving runner’s key needs:fit, feel and force.

The breathable one-piece Nike Flyknit upper, engineering different densities directly into the knit for precise support: a snug fit at the arch, heel and forefoot. Meanwhile, the mid-height collar was added to facilitate lockdown, both physically and sensorially, and Nike Flywire cables were knitted in for additional strength and a close, dynamic fit.

Moving to the midsole, the designers employed a new dual-injection technology. Using heat, instead of glue, they fused two foams into one piece that still features traditional Lunarlon construction, with an IU foam carrier and soft IP core. A rubber-free outsole with laser-siped geometric pistons inspired by pressure maps of the foot completes the footwear, maximizing both cushioning and traction, it provides unrivaled heel-to-toe transitions and propelling energy return.

The Nike LunarEpic Flyknit is currently available at Nike retail outlets at Mid Valley, Pavilion, and KLCC, and will be retailing at RM679

Stakes Shop Comic Zine “Don’t Shleep” Chapter 1/3

For this week-end read we’ll be reviewing a few peak from this collaborate work of art Stakes Shop Comic Zine “Don’t Shleep” chapter 1/3. The Story was written by A.B and Seburba but mostly all the illustration and art direction for the comic is fully drawn by the Seburba himself. The comic story line is very interesting but a bit confusing even though the story itself focuses on the topic about “Greed“. But it depends on how you readers perspective and understanding about the stories behind it. Besides that, the comic doesn’t stop there because the story will still be continued since they’ll be releasing another two more chapter for their upcoming comic zine. If you were wondering on the meaning behind “1:1/3 – 18:1/3” on the picture above, it represents the pages number and chaptering of the back, which in this case means “page.1 of chapter 1/3 to page.18 of chapter 1/3”. Not to forget, you’ll be getting a free patch inside the comic that comes with every purchase.

For those readers out there who wanna purchased some or you’re interested in collecting Stakes Shop Comic Zine you can drop by to their Pop Up Store at Bangsar, Jalan Telawi 2 or if you’re lazy to drive or walk in to their place you can just simply order the comic online through their website too.
