These two days event will be happening on the 30th to 31st January and starts at 12pm until 8pm where they’ll be hosting a mini-carnival for creative inclinations.

SATURDAY 30 JANUARY 2016

MARKET by Slate Weekend, Sat 11am to 7pm
Slate Weekend will be hosting a weekend market for the creatively inclined. Vendors were curated to provide a wide selection of products to entice the public. Our list of vendors include makers of baby clothing, paintings and houseware goods, Boys On Teeth; jewellery designers, Escape Artist Collective; sneaker sellers and doodlers, Doodette; children jinbei by Yokidana; pet clothing makers PB & Joanne; stationery aficionados Pebble Paper Design, Ohsum Mossum Terrariums, floristBuds by Ilyana, and Butter + Beans.

SKATE JAM by Wheel Love Skateshop, Sat 11am
New tenants at The Row, Wheel Love Skateshop, will be hosting a skate jam as a treat to all 2 and 4 wheeled lovers out there.

EcoKnights Film Screening, Sat 5pm to 9pm
In collaboration with The Row, Ecoknights will be screenings its favoured short films and documentaries at Slate @ The Row. Donations are encouraged to support the environmental NGO in its earnest quest to bring awareness to the public about the advantages of saving our planet.

League Of Captains BBQ, Sat 6pm
Our popular Phase One tenant will be hosting a BBQ in conjunction with Slate Weekend. Bring your mates for an evening by the grill. LoC will provide the music, the food and the drinks, all you need to do is show up.

SKATE CLINIC by Wheel Love Skateshop, 11am
For those who have skateboards and rollerblades in dire need of some care, drop by the skate clinic to get spruce them back up. And for those who want to learn how to skate or rollerblade, you are welcomed too. The boys at Wheel Love will show you some love by teaching you a thing or two about rolling through life on wheels.

SPCA Malaysia will be bringing some of their cuddly friends to Slate Weekend. Drop by to show some love to their adorable animals, and maybe even bring one home.

Slate Weekend is helping L45 Community library stock up on some much needed books. If you have books to give away, drop by the event to drop them off. You are also welcomed to read alittle while you’re at it.

Subculture x A.C.A.B: Two Decades Of Rebellion Tour 2016

Hard Rock present a local independent punk rock band Subculture and a skinhead band A.C.A.B for their “Two Decades Of Rebellion Tour”. Both band will start their first tour this Sunday on 24th January 2016 at Hard Rock Cafe, Kuala Lumpur with two opening acts by UnderPressure and Carbon4Teen. The shows starts on 2:30pm till 6:30pm but the door will be open around 1:30pm. Ticket price is RM60 per nett inclusive with a drink. Limited ticket will be sold on door so better come early if you don’t wanna miss their first tour this weekend and be part of their history.

Projek Rabak Presents Ipoh Kreative 2016

 

Projek Rabak will be hosting a one week festival called Ipoh Kreative 2016 that celebrates creative scene in few different places around Ipoh town. The campaign is a baseline to highlight Ipoh as one of the local creative hub known as ‘Ipoh Kreative City and also to promote #IpohKreative2016 to locals and international tourist. The event will take place on 24th of January 2016, Sunday, till 30th of January 2016, Saturday. Entrance is free for all events and there will be interesting performances by local artists,  poetry & rabak writing,  artist talk, street theatre and so on.

Keep yourself occupied tomorrow night as FINDARS’ ”The Dancing Room” will be supplying a bleak and drone performance by Euseng Seto and Kent Lee. Both the duo will come together to give a great performance. Besides that, Dae Kim will also be making an appearance to perform his sets.

Now, They’re collaborating with one of the biggest denim brand industry “Levi’s®” for their film project about 3 professional fixed gear enthusiast Aaron Chan, Zaim Rosli, and Shidi from Pedal Malaya and showcased how they live, work and play in the Levi’s® Commuter™ Collection.

The video was shot in the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur with some killer drone and some extreme road cycling shots.

TREC KL : A Sunday Affair

If you love music, food and shopping altogether, this is an event you wouldn’t want to miss! TREC KL is going to launch its first event ‘A Sunday Affair’ on the 31st of January from 4p.m. to 10.30p.m. at The Quad (event space between Zouk KL and Electric Boulevard), TREC @ 436 Jalan Tun Razak. There will be an exclusive appearence and performance by youtube sensation, William Singe, a singer songwriter who covered hit songs such as Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ and Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’. Besides that, there will also be live performance by locals social influencers such as Daphne Charice, OJ Law, LAPSAP, NAUFAL and so on.

As for food, there will be food trucks serving a variety of fusion cuisine such as desserts, pasta and burger; and a flea market featuring various fashion vendors. There will also be various activities including beer pong and so on.

What’s best is that it is free entry for all with an 18 year old minimum age limit for the entertainment area from 4pm until 10:30pm. Johny Comes Lately “KAYA” New Single Music Video

An 8 piece of Ska Punk band from Kuala Lumpur Johny Comes Lately have just released their Newly single called “Kaya” featuring Ein from Straight Edge Hardcore band Second Combat and it is taken from their upcoming debut album “Kemana Kita?“. Their new track talks about issues that is happening nowadays called “Reality In Life”.

Back in the past, they started out as a 4 piece ska band. The bands original lineup was Ebi, Dex, Aizat, and Irwan. The band started to play their first show was a show called “Pandan Music Festival” back in 2007. Followed by a list of shows and simultaneously started to record their first release. Their most memorable first show was a gig called “Tribute to Bob Marley” where the band started to get attention from the ska crowd.

In 2009 they joined Ska Fest Tour where they’re touring to almost all the major states in Malaysia along side with others Ska band too. After a year past they first material was a self titled EP which had 6 tracks on it and it was released on 4th January 2010 signed by “Nyaring Records”. Not only that their EP’s currently on sale on every selected local music stores. As the band grows, they’re now currently recording their upcoming debut album which is releasing soon this year 2016.
