RECAP : Crossover X Reebok Instapump Fury Launch Party

Last Thursday,10th of April 2014 will be marked as one of the most significant day for the sneaker scene in Malaysia. It marks the first ever collaboration between a Malaysian store and an international brand, Crossover X Reebok Instapump Fury  was finally launched. As we’ve mentioned before in the detailed look of the shoe post, the shoe features glow-in-the-dark tiger camo and it comes alive in the dark or under UV lighting. Hence, taking that as the main theme , the venue was dark and was only lighted up with UV lighting. A lot of classic Reebok silhouettes like the Instapump Fury, Blacktop, Pump etc. were on display. To add to the good vibes of the event, there was a pretty huge line in front of the shop too, all waiting to get their hands on the shoe. The first in line had camped out in front of the store for one day. Although there was a huge line, almost everyone left with a smile on their face as majority of the crowd manage to get a pair except for a few unlucky ones. Check the images below to see what went down that day!

3rql. – Escape the Haze (Part 1)

Skateboarding has made it’s way to Kuala Lumpur city since the early 90’s.Today many spots has been discovered in this concrete jungle, the probability for a new spot to be found is quite rare in the city. Certain spots were taken down by the authorities while some are kept guarded away from skateboarders. Hence, the idea of discovering skate spots out of the city was born. The people from ‘3rql.’ decided to give Pahang a try since it’s one of the states in Malaysia that’s surrounded with tropical forest as its attraction. Thus, ‘Escape the Haze Project’ was born. The project got its name due to the haze phenomenon that affects Malaysia during the period of time.

Besides, ‘3rql.’ hopes that this project can be a medium to open the eyes of Malaysian skateboarders to not just focus on skateboarding in one place or city. Malaysia has its identity as a country surrounded with tropical forest and it should not stop skateboarders to skate in this type of environment . They believe this is one of the traits that skateboarding has to offer which is – no limit for creativity in skateboarding no matter where you roll.

For their coming collection, we see the brand going with pretty vibrant colours this time round and also with more graphics. Our personal fav would be the cocky tee, because it’s the more polite and English-er way to say LANSI. We’ve been told that the collection previewed here is only about half of the whole collection so stay tune to this space once we get more news. In the meantime, take a look at pics below.

We are still awaiting news on the exact date that The Swagger Salon will be releasing their new collection, but from what we’ve been told it will most probably sometime mid of this month. Stay tune!

Touchwood – ‘Dignity’ L/S Tee

Some of you may recognise Touchwood as an accessories brand, but Touchwood is definitely more than that. They’ve been putting out a couple of caps and tee shirts for the past few years. This time, they’re offering a long sleeve tee named ‘Dignity’.

Set against a white long sleeve tee with cuffing on the sleeves, and cool grey colour printing for the graphics. ‘Dignity’ is best defined as ‘the state of being worthy of honour’, hence the tagline printed on the sleeve, as well as a couple of their signature logos on the other sleeve. As we’ve been told, the concept behind this tee is to remind the people that no matter how hard you fall, you got to stand up and fight for yourself. There is always a comeback, if you keep the DIGNITY in yourself.
