Wolfgang Spring / Summer 2013 Lookbook #2

The brand has definitely covered a lot of grounds over the past 2 years. Hip-Hop music videos, skaters in skate videos, hardcore underground gigs, clubs, heck even at big family-day-out events like “Jom Heboh”, you will definitely see at least one of their t-shirts in the crowds. And now Wolfgang have set their sights on new grounds to cover, which is High Street Fashion like the likes of Boy London and KoKonToZai to name a few.

In the second version of their 2013 Spring / Summer lookbook, the wolf pack got the help of Jiman Casablancas to style up the shoot, some sweet accessories from The Extra Piece to spice things up, and one of our local fashion industry’s most  renown photographer, Ridduan Ismail aka TTFGA to help with styling and also to shoot the lookbook.

Check out some of the images from the lookbook below, and if you want to view the full version, head on over to TTFGA‘s website or check it out from Wolfgang’s Facebook page.

_DSC3093

Here is a preview of The Swagger Salon‘s 2013 4th Quarter releases. The collection will be releasing at the Kicks On Sneaker Convention which will be happening this coming Sunday, 22nd of September. In the upcoming collection, it looks like The Swagger Salon will feature more of their ‘Lansi’ caps coupled with batik designs on the brim of the cap. The caps will also be accompanied by matching ‘Lansi’ t-shirts that feature the same batik designs. Besides that, the collection also features some graphic tees ( one of our favorite would be the “Nice Guys Finish Last” tee) and some basic, minimalistic t-shirts.

Be sure to drop by The Swagger Salon booth at the Kicks On event this coming Sunday to check out the new collection.

The Noisy Project consist of  various DJs, Producers and Artiste coming together to make beats. The initial suspects that started this project is Sam Oh from the band Busco together with producers from Ezra and Francis. The idea was to start this project out with the three of them initially,  and along the way get more and more individuals who are interested to get on board the project in the future.

In the audio above, it features their latest single called “Stranger” which has managed to reach the number one spot on the Malaysian English Top 10 on Hitz.FM.

monoloQue feat. Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza – Tanah Airku Tanah Airmu Jua

ARVE Error: id and provider shortcodes attributes are mandatory for old shortcodes. It is recommended to switch to new shortcodes that need only url

Alternative rock band monoloQue collaborated with our very own local queen of pop, Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza to produce a superb collaboration that speaks about the meaning of independence. The song is almost anthem like, but instead of preaching over-the-top fanatical patriotism that is normally accompanied by the beat of a marching drum, the song has a very flow-y and captivating feel to it that  is complemented with lyrics that encourage its listeners to think and reflect.

To highlight our diverse cultures, the Malay song also features signatory Indian and Chinese instruments, like the Sitar and Erhu which can be heard in the beginning of the song.  The lyrics of the song is inspired by National Laureate Datuk Usman Awang’s Tanah Air poem. The video features many familiar faces from the local industry like Noh Salleh from the band ‘Hujan’, David Leong from “They Will Kill Us All’, radio announcer Hunny Madu from ‘FlyFm’ and many more.

“If you notice, after the lyrics, there is a sound of erhu and the next there will be the sound of sitar before we go back to the lyrics. It’s the erhu and sitar melodies interwoven with lyrics. Musically, it represents the tolerance and the co-existence between the major races in our country,” – Loque of monoloQue

After checking out the video, we leave you guys with some pictures from behind the scenes of the video shoot. Enjoy.

Nike Air Force 1 CMFT QS “Weatherman” Detailed Look

The Nike Air Force 1 has been given the same privilege as the Nike Air Foamposite One in the form of the “Weatherman” make up. Inspired by Kevin Durant’s aspirations of becoming a weatherman when he was growing up, the AF1 is seen with the almost same make up as the foamposite’s “Weatherman” colorway, just that on the AF1 it is more efficiently used. “I like natural disasters, so they made a very nice shoe around that theme” said Kevin.

The Nike AF1 took the world of Basketball by storm in 1982 with its revolutionary cushioning and style, and today, the people at Nike have taken the comfort to another level. The ‘CMFT’ on the shoe box means COMFORT, which means there is added cushioning for more comfort. The upper of the shoe features a Doppler graphic printed across, which gives a quick transformation from calm to intense. The icy blue sole complements the upper which follows the intensity of the blue colorway.

Definitely one of our favorite and one of the strongest AF1 release by Nike for this year. The shoe is already available at selected retailers, so be sure to check in with them if you’re planning to get one.

The Local – Hand Made Leather Goods

mini clutch(2)

There has been an increase of local streetwear brands over the past few months, and with the emergence of events such as ‘KL Clothing Fest’, ‘Propaganda Fest’ and of course, ‘Tempatan Fest’, it has helped the local scene expand at a very tremendous pace. Besides fashion brands, the upcoming ‘Tempatan Fest 3.0’ will be featuring local brands who produce accessories. The brand under the spotlight today, who will also be featured in the upcoming ‘Tempatan Fest’ is “The Local”.

Focusing mostly only leather goods, this brand has been around since 2012 and have stayed under the radar for these past year simply because the founders, Abe and Kecik, who were college students when they started the brand, was just doing it out of sheer fun. A hobby. Selling their stuff mostly to college mates and family members, they soon realize that the orders have a steady increase. Fast forward a year later, this two dudes are doing this full time.

One of the brand’s motto and promise when starting out is produce high quality handmade leather products at affordable prices. And they have still manage to stay on track in keeping that promise. A basic wallet made out of 100% calf leather will only set you back RM70 and a slightly larger one would cost you just an extra RM10.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the 5th – 6th of October for “Tempatan Fest 3.0” to check out “The Local” and the 100+ brands that will be featured on that day.
