Do You Feel The Heat? The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 ‘UNC’ Is Releasing This Week

When the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 ‘Chicago’ released, the entire sneaker scene landscape changed. The Europe exclusive pair then released shortly after with an astounding resell price of RM5,000 and above. Now, another colorway is releasing using the same silhouette, the UNC color scheme.

Similar to the other Off-White x Air Jordan 1 pairs, the build and material are almost exact except small details which may not be noticeable at a glance such as perforations throughout the shoe which are not completely punched in. This colorway features the same details as others such as the Off-White x Nike branding on the medial side of the panels, Swoosh on the lateral side of the shoe held up by orange stitching, the “AIR” branding on the midsole and the usage of suede, leather, and mesh materials are well noticeable as compared to the other colorways.

Certain countries have released this pair, and now, its Malaysia’s turn. It will be available for purchase on Nike this coming 23rd June with a price tag yet to be revealed. May the best internet connection win!

Chaos On Nike Online This Thursday For The Nike React Element ’87

The Nike React Element ’87 was first seen at UNDERCOVER’s Paris Fashion Week back in March where most sneakerheads were fast to assume that the pair identified was an UNDERCOVER collaboration with Nike which is now made clear that it is indeed another general release pair.

The silhouette was designed by the Nike special projects team, led by Nate Jobe, senior design director of the team. Nate Jobe states that:

“The Nike Element React 87 was realized by drilling foam and applying a computational design filter. The results presented a new articulation of Nike’s React technology while an out-the-box interpretation of a friendly runner from the past yielded an avant-garde new upper.”

Many sneakerheads speculate that this silhouette will be the next big thing in the scene with overwhelming feedback from the various colorways revealed, and with an UNDERCOVER collaboration releasing soon,  it is almost certain that Nike will be pushing their latest silhouette to get everyone on the Nike bandwagon. The Sail and Anthracite colorway will be releasing this 21st June, on Nike with a price tag of RM593. We can only assure everyone that they will be having a tough time copping these as early pairs are already on the secondary market around RM1,500 and everyone wants a piece of the ‘profit cake’.

Are You On The “Road To Moscow”? The OBSCR x 1972FC Merch Brings The World Cup Spirit To You.

OBSCR X 1972FC MERCH

Why 1972? It was one of the most memorable years for Malaysians as it was the very first time Malaysia football qualified for the Olympic Games after beating Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines in the qualifying round and was set for Munich. Malaysia’s reign ended during the elimination round as they were defeated by West Germany and Morocco, but had an outstanding 3-0 victory over the United States. In 1980, the Malaysia football team managed to earn their spot in the Olympics in Moscow after defeating South Korea 2-1. As Malaysians were looking forward to their national football heroes winning the Olympics, the team decided not to participate the Olympics in Moscow, as the Malaysian government decided to boycott the Games in protest against Soviet Union’s invasion against Afghanistan.

The 1972FC merch c/o OBSCR is a piece to commemorate the passion and love for the beautiful game where we will forever be in debt to the unsung heroes who have contributed to develop the football scene in Malaysia.

Pestle And Mortar Release New World Cup Inspired Capsule Collection

Much like how Kim Jones and Off-White have released their own collections in conjunction with the FIFA World Cup, Pestle and Mortar too have come up with their own iterations of football gear, specifically one jersey and three iterations of their flying mechanic tee.

The Football Republic Jersey is a homage to 90s designs, featuring an Umbro and PMC patch and a Russian flag embroidered on the sleeve. A mute checkerboard pattern in black and slightly less black covers the entirety of the jersey, with Pestle and Mortar in Russian emblazoned on the front.

The Mechanic Tees all present different iterations with slightly different typefaces and languages. The Messi Ending tee reminisces the colours of Germany, a supposed throwback to when Germany won the World Cup back in 2014.

Tsubasa Mechanic Tee references Asian pride, or the fact that Japan and South Korea managed to pass through qualifiers and are battling it out on the world stage.

The Cyka Mechanic Tee is a homage to Russia in general, who are the World Cup hosts in this round.

All 4 t-shirts are available online and in Pestle and Mortar’s flagship store in Bangsar.

Cop That Outfit: How To Dress Like John Mayer In His MV, ‘New Light’

I’m very sure the lot of you have already seen John Mayer’s MV that’s the equivalent of a beautiful ugly shoe. Mayer showcases his new summer bop in probably the most meme-able MV to date, taking direct inspiration and influences from a low-budget MV shoot with someone who just discovered the magic of green-screen. The poke to his serious image back in previous albums was intentional, and at the very least, keeps him somehow in-trend while still retaining his touch.

The clothes featured too resemble an almost hobo outfit, with Mayer donning a very worn hoodie, pajama pants, and a pair of Nike’s, but then again, it’s not all what it seems. Here’s a head to toe breakdown of the man’s outfit

Hoodie

It’s not from a bundle. In fact, what it is, is a purposely done distressed hoodie made by a Japanese brand called Kapital, under a sub-line called Kountry. Cut from loopback cotton, the hoodie features a drawstring hood, V-stitch detailing on the neck, big kangaroo pocket, complete with unfinished edges present throughout the hoodie. Kapital produces these in obscenely small quantities, and in limited sizing, so getting one for retail is near impossible. An auction bidding on Zenmarket goes for about 15000 Yen, or around RM 542.

Pants

The pants here are the only relatively cheap item that you can get. While not an exact copy, close to original patterned pants can be found easily at department stores and shops like Uniqlo for below RM 50, so it’s not too bad. At the very least you can complete 1/3rd of the whole outfit.

Shoes

Here’s cold hard evidence of what star power can do. While previously shadowed by practically everything else, the Nike Air Pegasus A/T Pinnacle rides the hype wave with the release of the MV. This particular model goes in line with Nike’s techwear subbrand, ACG, meaning it gets waterproofing upgrades and a quick lacing zipcord, coloured in bright colours for extra retro feel.

Total?

Summing up the shoes, pants, and hoodie, you’re looking at a total price tag of about RM 1200 approximately, without shipping and taxes. Do you think it’s worth the cop? Sound off below!

The Borak-Borak Session: The Venopian Solitude

In this episode of Borak Borak, The Venopian Solitude details their journey, from starting out with just a single person back in 2014, growing exponentially to gain recognition from Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA), all the way to playing in festivals all across Europe.

The Air Jordan 14 “Last Shot” Is Re-Releasing

While the Air Jordan 1 kickstarted MJ’s career, the Air Jordan 14 was there to become part of a beautiful end. Down one point with 10 seconds left on the clock in Game 6 during the 1998 Finals, MJ evaded his defender and jumped in a single motion, dunking the now infamous 20-foot jumper. The AJ 14s were now synonymous with the “last shot,” effectively sealing his 6th NBA Title and Finals MVP, the perfect send off to the end of his incredible career.

Who knew a supposedly quiet last shot from MJ as a Chicago Bull would also end up to become one of his most legendary shots ever.

To cop a piece of history, head over to Nike, wait at 9am on the 14th of June, and be ready to cough out approximately RM 707. If you can get em before you’re placed into queue.
