Each of the photos and accessories are purely personal to the individual being photographed – creating an aura of raw emotion and depth to the individuals in their photos.

First Glimpse at “Balmain X H&M”

HM-11-GQ-09Sep15_b_1445x878

Back in 2004, H&M kicking off their first ever-designer collaboration, which only selected company stores, offered an exclusive collection by the German fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld. Hereafter, international labels like Versace, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo, Maison Martin Margiela and Alexander Wang also followed the footstep. It wouldn’t be surprised that France based haute couture fashion house, Balmain also teamed up with H&M to scheme a ready to wear collection, yet the release is anticipating and exhilarating.

sam

Pierre Balmain founded Balmain, he was born at St. Jean de Maurienne, a small village in France. Interesting part is he was supposed to study Architecture, somehow he spent most of his time on designing dresses. He left his study and began his fashion career as an assistant for master Parisian couturier Lucien Lelong. However, he left Lelong to start his own house in 1945, which is Balmain.

ll

He passed away in 1982 and Erik Mortensen, who had been Balmain’s right hand man, continued his house. Until 2011, an unknown young designer, Olivier Rousteing was named as the label’s designer. Although he aged merely 25 when he was on board, his collections pushed the label towards a diverse path of success. Heavily influenced by unique style of modern women wear as well as the founder Pierre Balmain stressed on his objective was “to always dress women in the right look for the right moment”.

From previous experience, we think that there is a high possibility that this collection will hit H&M Malaysia stores. Hope you enjoy a little brief history at here and please enjoy yourself with a glimpse of their latest Balmain X H&M collection.
