RECAP : “The Ruthless Weekend”

KIM_9093

Last Saturday, we attended ‘The Ruthless Weekend’ organised by Pattern Store, Deciders Plus and The Yard. It’s real ruthless on that day with all the skate jams, BBQ, and the video premier of Killeur Calculateur X Tep Yorke . It was just held behind Grafa Restaurant, at a small narrow street. Besides, Pattern Store and Deciders Plus also delivered their new collection. It was an evening filled with different individuals with one passion which is the street subculture. Check out the images below to know what went down that day:-

REVERSE. – ‘Rats’ Business’ Fall 2014 Collection Lookbook

reverse3

REVERSE. was the brainchild of two housemates who decided to start the brand as a project just for kicks. They started with a parody tee and soon followed up with several designs and collaboration with a fellow local brand, The Hijinks. When their designs took off, they decided to rebrand and gave life to REVERSE., this time with a whole new direction.

Fusing street art, street wear and skateboarding, they are back with their Fall 2014 collection, ‘Rats Business’. Named after their unnamed release mid this year, the inspiration came from ‘RB’, the unofficial abbreviation used by their group of friends who sells vintage items at Jalan Raja Bot in Chow Kit. This ‘pasar karat‘ (aka bundle) in their opinion, isn’t the best place for people to chill and hang out with friends as it’s rather dingy and sketchy. But they feel that the spirit and the hard work of the vendors makes it a special place to linger with friends. The main point they’re trying to convey is to do something, anything, without over-thinking and just plain have fun with your friends. Their motto : “Because we are ratters, we are always dirty.”

You can find their collection on their website and be sure to follow them on their Facebook and Instagram for more updates.

wolfgang3

Wolfgang is back! Their new Fall 2014 collection features their usual minimalistic and monochromatic approach to high street fashion but still keeping it very much local. Going back to basics, the brand has created simple embroidered logo tees, long and short garage sleeve shirts, oxford shirts and basic logo t-shirts. The one item that stood out most was the ‘Work Like A Slave, Live Like A King’ shirt. Inspired by 90’s streetwear and skate wear, the styling for Wolfgang’s new lookbook was shot in hangout spots around KL. One if it being the famous Jalan Alor, one of the best food haunts in the wee hours of the morning. Check out the lookbook below : –
