DC Shoes – Dream Catcher : Nizam Lee

Here’s the Part 1 of DC Shoes, Dream Catcher series featuring Nizam Lee. The video showcased his journey from starting out skating at the local skate park to the world famous skate park at Los Angeles – The Berrics.  The Berrics is a private skate park, and it’s only opened to skaters who is invited. And Nizam Lee is the first one in Malaysia to be invited to skate in the park. Watch the video and get inspired!

Graffiti in Progress

This coming Friday, be sure to check out Graffiti in Progress, a group exhibition by talented graffiti artists in Malaysia. The exhibition features Kenji Chai, Cloak, Katun, Siek, Volre, Case2, Drewfunk and Nestwo. Come on down to Hin Bus Art Depot Centre in Penang on the 20th of June from 8pm till 1am for the opening party! DJ Synthication & Kopigo, two local musicians, will be playing during the party.

Zahariz Kuzaimah is one the most interesting #iotds we’ve ever had the pleasure to introduce to our readers. An adventurer as well as a local film-maker, he travels around the world on a bicycle and living the nomadic way of life for many years. Currently, he is filming his journey as a documentary entitled ‘Dengan Basikal Aku Menjelajah’, which is aired on the local Alhijrah channel.

“I’ve been living on the road, cycling since 2010 starting from Chengdu, Sichuan Province in China, and so far I’ve cycled for about 16 000 km in China Mongolia Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan Iceland Scotland Sweden and Norway. Currently, I’m in Xi’an China, spending maybe another 6 weeks in China before going to Kyrgyzstan again,” says Zahariz. His reason for using Instagram is to share details of his travels with everyone.

Whatever There Was : Bali

Most of you may recognise Hanie Hidayah of Average Jane and Nazri Lian a.k.a. point8cam. After 3 years of courtship, they got married in mid September last year. Both from creative backgrounds, Hanie who is a lifestyle blogger as well as the creative director of Groundhouse; while Nazri, a full time videographer created Whatever There Was. Whatever There Was is an online travel series created to share their travels and journey filled with people, experiences and culture. Three years into this project, they gained a loyal following amongst fellow travelers, social media followers and people who are generally interested in traveling. In the middle of this year, Whatever There Was became a website compiling all their travel experiences in forms of articles, photographs and videos.

Daniel Halis of Sungai Petani, Kedah is our Instagrammer of the Day. At 25 years old, he does freelance photography as his full-time job. “I love my job and I think that it is the only way to show my passion to people; through capturing beautiful shots in my daily life,” says the photographer.


Daniel says that he randomly shoots while eating, even when hanging out with friends. “When I spot a great composition, I’ll take out my phone and capture those moments,” adds Daniel. He loves sharing his photographs taken using his iPhone on Instagram. “I met a lot of my friends through Instagram and we actually share mutual nspirations and passion in iPhonegraphy,” concludes Daniel.
