After a pretty long hiatus since late 2012, they recently just dropped a new line named “The Black Bureau” which is telling a story about their struggles that the brand faced during their hiatus. Struggles with the direction of the brand coupled with the desperation to find that balance between producing designs that is keeping up with the current hype and staying true to their initial vision of the brand. So this collection is dedicated to that desperation and struggle that they faced.

The MindFuck Apparel Co.

1000717_170224803149878_517555257_n

Inspired by one of the world’s most recent popular slang, MindFuck is a brand hailing from Penang island. Established in January 2013 by Michelle who thought it would be a cool idea to be the first female to own a streetwear label in Penang, and to also redefine the term MindFuck and also breakdown the taboo of the F word.

In her own pretty explanation of the brand’s definition of the word, Michelle explained that the word “Mind” is keeping in mind the goals and dreams that you want to achieve in life, while having the guts to just go out there and do it, and eventually achieving your goals.  The working word here is “guts”. In order to have guts, one needs to have the “F*ck it, let’s just do it!” mentality.

So remember guys and girls, always reMIND yourself to keep MindF*ckin’ yourself.

Saw what you we just did there?
