AGAINST LAB for CONVERSE: ‘RE(CONS)TRUCTION’ Lookbook

Local brand and multidisciplinary creative entity, Against Lab recently took a few Converse Chuck Taylors and did their own interpretation on them. This effort was in conjunction with the recent sneaker convention, SneakerLAH that just passed over the weekend where they displayed all the pairs for the convention goers to see.

Titled as ‘re(CONS)truction’, this project sees each pair getting fitted with specific materials to give each pair a certain persona. If you missed out on SneakerLAH last weekend and did not managed to catch a glimpse of this project, fret not, Against Lab has just released the lookbook for ‘re(CONS)truction’. Check it out above.

UNDEFEATED x BAPE x adidas are back!

For those of you who didn’t know, it was only last April that these three major brands collided minds to produce a fantastic collaboration on a couple vintage-styled adidas Superstar 80s silhouettes – and luckily for us, the terrific trio is back at it again to make us drool one more time!

Undefeated, Bape, and adidas Consortium brought us what looks like a reversed version of their previous brainchild, whereby in their latest creation.
You can clearly see there is no shortage of Bape signature camo print completely covering the supper of the Superstar – and definitely seems to speak the mind of Undefeated and Bape this time around (unlike the last collab which seemed rather tame to us). Accompanied with three super clean solid suede stripes complimenting the camo upper, we feel this was a great choice in terms of design for the trio – nice a simple. Also not forgetting that they have continued with the black/grey and blue colourways again, and also keeping the same gold stamping for the branding of the masterminds just like their previous collab – it worked so well last time, so why not do it again! Lastly to finish it all off, that classic vintage off-white sole unit and iconic shell toe – a silhouette that you can never go wrong with.

Just in time for their 25th Anniversary, Carhartt WIP has joined forces with MADNESS, a renowned lifestyle label owned by a famous Hong Kong actor/style influencer Shawn Yue in pursue of creating a finer re-interpretation of workwear. The first collaboration between the two heavyweights for the Fall/Winter 15 – Madness x Carhartt WIP: MAD IN PROGRESS comprises of Outerwear, Hoodies, Button-up shirts, T-shirt and Beanie, reworked in a brand new silhouettes and fabrication that refined modern streetwear.

The collection is set to drop this Saturday, 24th October at COVER, Sunway Pyramid & Crossover Flagship, City Square, Johor Baru in extremely limited quantities while as the full collection would only be available at Madness Pop-Up Store at COVER for a limited time.

Dropping sometime around Christmas season, Jordan brand will always be a slaughter to our wallet with the legendary Jumpman logo, including the legendary classics AJ8 Chrome is back after twelve years.

In other parts of the world, the Fall season is already on it’s way – so Asics has welcomed this seasonal change and brought you an Autumn themed colourway for your feet to enjoy. The ASICS Gel-Lyte III “Workwear” Pack – the Tan/Sand colourway.

This particular pack contains two models, the Gel-Lyte III and the Gel-Lyte V – whereby ASICS has designed their latest creation with a beautiful boot inspired makeover, perforated suede, and embossed leather upper, and thus creating a very attractive texture along the mud-guard. And lastly to encompass the entire ‘boot and Autumn’ theme, a hammer and axe cross design is printed on the insoles adding a beautiful final touch.

Million Apparel – ‘Inlarge 2015 Collection’

Moving out from the familiar playground of typography and graphic print, fellows from Million Apparel went with the minimalist approach for their newest drop “Inlarge”. This time, the collection is based on a simple design of logo embroidery on an array of fabrics and colors with no back design that add up to the clean type look.

Lecoq Sportif R1000 “Kickz-Lab” Exclusive

The Athletic Rooster had collaborated with another sneaker store from Japan, Kicks Lab. The two had joined forces to revamp the iconic Le Coq Sportif R1000. To represent the quite French night, the pair is donning a vast green color, charcoal with a hint of orange on the heel tab and constructed in a top-notch material of suede and leather.

The shoe is only available exclusively in Kicks Lab Store but we got some hints that Le Coq Malaysia will bring it here soon. So, stay tune to get the latest update.

Good Vibes pres. Death Cab For Cutie

The Grammy-nominated indie rock kings, Death Cab For Cutie is set to perform in Kuala Lumpur as Good Vibes will be kicking off their comeback show on February 27th, 2016 at KL Live. Formed in Bellingham, Washington in 1997, this trio (after founding member; Chris Walla left the band) made their way to stardom after releasing their widespread critical acclaim album, Transatlanticism, with songs appeared on various movies and also television series.
