FAME stands for Fashion and Music Evolution. Two weeks back, the Masses team attended Raffles College of Higher Education Kuala Lumpur’s event organised by the Fashion Marketing and Management students at Blackbox in Publika. Showcasing the fashion as well as music dating back from the 70’s to present as well as the future, there were also music talents performing alongside models for the fashion show. There were performances by local acts such as hip hop trio; Tactmatic, Ego and Dan, Shawn Lee, a cheerleading group and many others. The show was closed with a small collection by Yasmin Ramli of When Our Eyes Met and Nigel Chia. Check out the photos of the event below :

Black Scale – ‘Perception’ Summer 2014

Their latest collection, ‘Perception’, is true to their goal of evoking emotions and creating discussion through their designs. Super Duper – ‘ZeroZebra’ Tee

Hailing from Sandakan, Sabah, Super Duper released a new tee shirt named ‘ZeroZebra’. “We always have interesting perspective on hot trends and love to combine them with our style and personality.” said, Super Duper. They re-interpret the “Team Number” trend by adding on bright yellow hue on top of the black and white variations. It breaks down the monochrome shade and adds the sporty persona to the tee. While Super Duper love to go bold and have fun, they also keep things clean and modern at the same time. Therefore, the zebra print is not all over the place. It is just a delicate touch that makes you stand out from the trend and look good for longer.

The Color Run

The Color Run event is a one of a kind experience that is less about speed and more about enjoying a colour crazy day with your friends and family. It is a bout participants of all different speeds, ages, shapes and sizes toeing the start line. Whether you are a casual Sunday morning walker or an Olympic athlete, the 5km of The Color Run course will be the most enjoyable 5km you’ve traveled in a VERY long time!” There will also be a “Finish Festival” at the end of the run with music, dancing and a massive colour throw! This event is happening on 17th of August 2014, at Padang Merbok from 7AM to 12PM.

Here’s one of the pair from New Balance MRT580 Spring 2014 Collection. One of the pair that’s most eye-catching and has a good mixture of loud colourways. The shoe features a mixing palettes of purple/pink and a complementing blue with a cream outsole. The shoe is made of premium leathers and all the usual lavish detailings such as the revlite technology.

Odd Future returns this season with its latest delivery of goods, as always, this collection consists a range of colour, interesting graphics and all-over prints. Nike Air Max Lunar 1 ‘Volt’ Detailed Look

‘Volt’ colourway is not a shade that’s been historically tied to the Nike Air Max 1. When the Air Max 1 first came out during the 80’s, the shoes with red and blue colour were already eye-catching enough. Fast forward to 2014, this highlighter Volt colourway is doing that all over again. The Nike Air Max 1 Lunarlon features a Lunarlon midsole that’s covered with black-speckled volt, and the ripstop upper which’s mixed with black mudguard, grey overlays and white base, while Hyperfuse taping finished off the construction of the shoe.

The shoe is now available at selected Nike retailers nationwide such as Hundred% with the price of RM499 a pop.

Ox Leather Goods x Fuku Clothing

The brand that is focused on producing leather goods , Ox Leather Goods is now back with a new collaboration project with Fuku Clothing. This collection consists of three products which are the Trucker Wallet, bracelet and card case. Ox Leather Goods combined a selection of material from Fuku Clothing, such as the nipple rivet, brass button together with their leather and produced these leather pieces. As always, the goods are all handmade and built with very good material to last long.

The Swagger Salon – 2014 Q3 Collection

The most “lansi” brand in town, ‘The Swagger Salon’ is back with their 3rd collection for the year 2014. We don’t even have any word to describe this collection, it’s just simply “lansi”. It is summer all year long in Malaysia, thus, The Swagger Salon sticks to producing the garments that Malaysian would wear which are tee shirts, tanks, and caps. However, the designs are really very exciting. The design just speaks for itself and screams out the attitude that’s second to none.

The Instagrammer of the Day today goes to Muhammad Syukur bin Azib. Fresh out of MARA University of Technology (UiTM), this landscape architecture major, had a deep interest in art since childhood. He enjoys all form of art; fine art, paintings, architectural designs and of course, photography.

“Art is like a vitamin supplement in my life and I see art in everything!” exclaims the 25 year-old who is currently working as a part-time wedding photographer. He photographs to express his imagination, thoughts, sight and feel. His says that his emotions on his Instagram posts are ‘colourful’. Syukur says that he does not have any background in photography but passion drives him to learn it on his own. “Sometimes I draw when I’m sad, angry, bored or when I get a new idea. All I know is that art is who I am, the way I feel and what I do. The more I learn, the more I enjoy it!” he adds.
