Medicom And Royal Selangor Come Together Again To Create This Astounding Looking BE@RBRICK

Beaten pewter is too mainstream, and as such, this collaboration won’t be much of the same when it comes to utilising the expertise of Royal Selangor to create another collab BE@RBRICK. In fact, it very much isn’t, and we’d argue this one looks much nicer than the first.

Welcome to the BE@RBRICK “Arabesque Black,” featuring a much more ordained pattern that’s etched in remarkable detail to produce such a collectible wonder. The model is replete with curvilinear arabesque motifs derived from the elaborate steel engraved scrollwork of 19th century America and Europe. The model honors the history of its motif by following time-honoured techniques during the engraving and staining process.

The BE@RBRICK collab is available to order now at Royal Selangor stores for a price of RM 5,300.

Adidas And Manchester United Collaborate On An Exclusive Ultraboost Model

Inspired By The Lancashire Rose

In celebration of a century since the club’s first FA Cup win, Manchester United and Adidas have collaborated to release this special Ultraboost that takes inspiration from the Lancashire Rose.

The exterior remains a relatively muted one, featuring an all-black facade, rose detailing on the tongue, printed insole, and wording on the cage signifying the timeline since the club existed back in 1909 up until now. The leather cage too is made completely out of leather which extends all the way to the back of the heel cup.

This collab represents a start in a number of other rose-inspired pieces that will be launched over the coming weeks as part of a new lifestyle range.

The Adidas Ultraboost X Manchester United will be available at adidas stores, online, and retail partner stores from 29th July onwards at RM 750.

Malaysia Is About To Get Its Very Own MMA Movie

Starting Remy Ishak And Zul Ariffin

It’s no secret that Mixed Martial Arts has been on the rise in our region for a while, with One FC and UFC having major fanbases right here in our country, and it’s only a matter of time that we get a cinematic iteration of the sport. And we do now.

“Sangkar” by Kabir Bhatia reflects the story of MMA fighters Adam and Johan; a fierce rivalry that ends up with Johan being critically injured. Adam then goes on a road of redemption to atone for his mistakes, seeking forgiveness from the same man he crushed by helping out in anyway that he can while struggling to keep his mental health afloat for his family’s sake. In a bid to earn a more sizable payout, Adam goes all out and brings the fight to an international MMA fighter in order to put an end to this trial.

“Sangkar” launches at theaters nationwide on the 29th of August. It’s about time we’ve had our very own Rocky Balboa.

The Nike AF1 ‘MOMA’ and ‘MCA.’ A Peak Into The Archive Of Virgil | WDHANFTSY

(First things first, we’d like to apologise for the audio, as we’re having some trouble with the lapel mics)

The first look at Virgil’s Air Force 1 collab with Nike looked to be a design born out of apparent simplicity and to a certain extent, laziness. But according to Paul (@Paulbernardxavier) and Hans (@hansabdullah), that’s absolutely not the case, as they represented a portion of a much bigger picture, significant portions of Virgil’s design legacy condensed into two shoes. The two join Bryan ‘Botak’ Chin and Julian ‘Sunflower’ Leong to discuss why these two pairs are very sought after, and why it’s especially meaningful to Virgil Abloh as a whole.

Nike Introduces Joyride Cushioning, A Unique Take On Midsole Comfort

Introducing Thousands Of Microbeads To The Midsole

Apart from Air, foam is a technology that Nike’s heavily betting their side on, but could be reaching the end of the lifeline. After the pinnacle of the tech in the form of the Vaporfly Next%, all that’s left honestly is to refine the smaller details and eke out whatever advantage they can get possible to make the shoe a little faster before. Diminishing returns are approaching fast on the tech, and exploring another type of cushioning may just be the breakthrough that the brand needs.

Enter then, the Joyride Run FK, featuring very little in the way of foam, instead adding thousands of micro TPE beads to the midsole for a truly moulded feel that is bouncy, but more importantly, comfortable all across the foot area.

According to Nike, the Joyride is “engineered to help keep legs fresh by delivering a personalized underfoot experience with great impact absorption in a surprisingly light, energy-returning package.”

How the shoe achieves this is by placing the beads in zonally tuned pods, rather than letting all in the casing much like a ballpit. Focusing on the pressure points of the foot allows for a truly dynamic footbed that moulds to your arch and size, no matter how high, low, wide, or narrow the foot is.

Stay tuned as we go in-depth to the technology over in the coming weeks, providing you with the coverage on the inspiration, and construction of the shoe.

The Nike Joyride Run FK is currently only available to Nike Members that drops on the July 25th, but a global release is set to happen on August 15, for an approximate retail price of RM 740 RM.

Another Nike Moon Shoe Exists, And It’s Right Here In Malaysia

I’m sure you’ve heard the story that one collector has practically swept 99 of the most coveted sneakers at a Sotheby’s auction courtesy of Stadium Good’s Trophy Case that detail the rarest, most exclusive shoes in the entirety of sneaker history, except for one special pair, now known as the Nike Moon Shoe.

The Moon Shoe is a special one with an extremely rich history, having been one out of only twelve pairs handmade by Nike co-founder, Bill Bowerman. The probable progenitor of the waffle that tracks forward to the Tailwind and Sacais of now, the origin was founded with Bill deciding to pour rubber to his wife’s waffle iron and subsequently creating the first prototype of the sole.

A chap by the name of Miles Nadal had scooped up all 100 pairs that made the Trophy Case for approximately RM 3.5 million, and the (Deadstock) Nike Moon Shoe for an eye-watering RM 1.8 million, breaking the Sotheby’s auction record for most expensive pair of sneakers ever sold.

Now here’s where it gets interesting. It is thought that this pair is the last one out of the twelve to have survived this day, but apparently, another has been unearthed, and it’s right here in Malaysia.

A man by the name of Ide Adol posted a photo of a renowned silent collector, Hatu Guni, with a verified pair of the Moon Shoes, complete with the original box. As it stands, only 2 exist in the world, one in a museum in Canada, and one in Kelantan. We’ve no words other than massive respect and salute to Hatu for his immense collection and love for the Swoosh.

Where To Buy The Nike Cortez “Shoe Dog” Pack

You may have seen the Nike Cortez “Shoe Dog” making rounds on the internet featuring alternate logos placed on a Cortez silhouette identical to the original.

Featuring different names such as Dimension Six and Falcon, the “Shoe Dog” pack also included the original Swoosh design by Carolyn Davidson, whom had penned a skinnier version of the logo prior to the famous logo that we see now.

While the Falcon iteration is almost sold out, the other two still possess a full size run at Nike.com for a retail of RM 389. For what it is and what it represents, it’s a bargain in our opinion.

Take A Closer Look At The Kyrie 5 X Bandulu

Bandulu has a unique business model. The brand upcycles its clothes, taking plenty of inspiration from the bootleg, fake, ghetto, vintage even, and breathes new life into them by hand adding several embellishments.

The same concept then is applied directly to the Kyrie 5s, making for a new but dirty looking silhouette. The paint splatters are actually embroidered, complemented with mesh synthetics to add graffiti-like dripping to the sides.

A mini-swoosh is added on the toebox, while the profile swooshes are enlarged to accentuate the playfulness of the shoe. The heel portion contains co-branding in Bandulu’s typography, while Kyrie Irving’s name are embroidered on the vamp.

Good story telling, mated to a model that befits it.

The Bandulu X Kyrie 5 launches on 27th July for a price of RM 495 on Nike.com.
