Nike Is Restocking Its Air Max 97 “Summer Of Love”

In a somewhat strange decision, the Swoosh it seems has decided to re-release one of its shoes from the On Air competition, namely the Air Max 97 ‘Summer Of Love’ by London based artist, Jasmine Lasode.

To recap, the ‘Summer Of Love’ colourway is inspired by London’s romantic summers, which includes a very personal connection to Lasode, where she had a first date with her now-girlfriend on Primrose Hill. “The colours and details are all personal to our first date. There’s the sunset, the drinks we bought at the corner shop and price tags. Overall, the shoe is about love and good vibes,” laments Lasode.

What you see on the shoe, the mix of bold colour choices and details are a direct interpretation of her vision of love and good vibes, transpiring into an Air Max colourway that really isn’t unlike any other.

The Nike Air Max 97 ‘Summer Of Love’ will be available on the 19th of July, on SNKRS for a price of RM 815.

Fritilldea And OBEY Collab For A Pop-Up At Gillman Barracks In Singapore

Anyone who’s dabbled in the local arts scene will have known of Fritilldea, or more affectionately known to the others as ‘Black.’ The famed street artist has achieved a fair much during his time exploring the arts, from being commissioned to create custom artwork for Vespa to being called up by Red Bull to judge in their #EhWauBulan campaign, he’s about to add another milestone to his illustrious CV with a collaboration from the USA, Obey.

In a 3-day pop up happening this weekend, Fritilldea will be at Gillman Barracks, Singapore for #STARTATGILLMAN who will paint a live mural and also showcase his previous artworks throughout.

While details are scarce at the moment, we have a sneaking suspicion that the end product of the collaboration will be on an Obey t-shirt, as teased in the post above.  We’ll update the article as it goes.

Nike Dons The PG3 In A NASA Inspired Silver Colourway

Not To Be Confused With The Silver Surfer

It’s been some time since Paul George’s moon shot took him from Palmdale to basketball stardom, and the limit doesn’t stop there. This iteration in collaboration with NASA takes the model up the new heights.

Fully reflective uppers on the mesh panels, little details in the form of badges on the tongue, co-branding in the insole, and flight tag makes it all the more true to its theme. A quote “Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit when there’s footprints on the moon” makes itself present on the heel area as a gentle reminder to push your ambitions far ahead. A hazy graphic that looks like the moon surface completes the outsole pattern. A chrome silver Swoosh wraps up the aesthetic of the shoe, for a very space driven outlook that fits right in an Austin Powers movie.

The Nike PG3 drops on “NASA” drops on the 20th of July for a price of RM 455 on Nike.com.

Uniqlo Pledges To Reduce Usage Of Single Use Plastic Up To 85% By 2020

Sustainability Is The New Black

More and more companies are taking into consideration of the impact of sustainability in their product line, and Uniqlo is next in line to include it in its supply chain. Uniqlo’s company, Fast Retailing just announced that it’ll aim to cut down the usage of single-use plastic bags by 85% by 2020, a move that’ll save up to 7,800 tonnes of plastic wastage a year.

Instead, eco-friendly paper shopping bags and thoughtful product packaging will reduce usage and subsequently, wastage as well.

The campaign will start from September, and will eventually encompass all 3,500 Uniqlo stores worldwide by next year, showing that it’s serious about making a change in its carbon footprint.

As the European market already uses paper bags, Uniqlo stores will switch to eco-friendly version as of September, too. Stores in North America, Europe and Asia will also begin charger a small standardized fee for bags in its stores, a move which will encourage buyers to bring their own.

Apart from switching to more forest friendly paper bags, the company will also eventually charge customers who require a bag in a bid to encourage users to use their own bag instead.

With brands becoming more and more conscious about the environment, the fashion industry is slowly but surely picking up its pace in a bid to reduce environmental waste. Here’s to hoping more companies join in the effort.

Adidas Brings Back The Adicolor For Its FW19 Collection

adiColor, One of adidas Originals’ most iconic and longest-running apparel returns for FW19, featuring a comprehensive range for both genders in iconic solid colour blocking.

For men’s, the collection revolves around the essentials such as shorts, jerseys, t-shirts, outerwear, and accessories, including the SST WB and 3-Stripe HZ jackets, while the iconic Firebird Tracksuit comes in full force, with the premium iteration being offered in 7 unique colours for men.

The women’s line follows the same approach, applying the palette to apparel such as the swimsuits, sweatshirts, track pants, and accessories alike. The trefoil makes itself present in logo graphics and contrasting 3-stripe mark finishes each piece.

Nike Debuts A New Type Of Flyknit On The D/MS/X

Before we begin, there is a little bit of a story to the D/MS/X line of shoes, more specifically, the name. Prior to Blue Ribbon Sports being called Nike as we now know and love, Mark Parker actually tabled another name that we think would have changed the direction completely if Nike wasn’t chosen.

Dimension Six was the name that Mark came up with, and the name has been resurrected in a new line of experimental silhouettes, a gateway of some sorts that presents a mix of different silhouettes, viewed from the lens of an alternate reality.

The shoe is also a launchpad for Nike’s latest tech, dubbed the N110 Flyknit – evoking comic like texture and tones with angry reds above vibrant blue weaves. Plenty a mixture of various models, taking notes of the Presto, mixed with a little bit of the Air Max 180.

The open knit is very reminiscent of a Carnage symbiote that is nothing like anything else in the product line. Coupled that with a tall foam base with a small torsion system in the middle with a dropped collar allows for a very futuristic racer like silhouette.

The Nike D/MS/X launches on Nike.com with a price of approximately RM 660.

Tinker Hatfield’s Sketches Are Brought To Life In The Air Max 1 “Sketch To Shelf”

It’s undeniable that the Nike Air Max 1 is one of the greatest shoes to have graced the sneaker scene, having spawned multiple high profile collaborations, with 2 of the most notable ones include atmos and Dutch artist Piet Parra.

Now though, Nike looks back to the roots of constructing the Air Max 1, by bringing its early sketches to life onto the silhouette itself, promising a model that’s full of details and Easter Eggs that relate back to how the Air Max 1 started back then. Each panel includes its own labels, as well as instructions to add additional paneling or naming a part on the shoe. Tinker Hatfield’s signature is present on the right heel counter of the pair, flanked by a Nike Air logo on the left. White lines are coloured into the debossed details of the midsole, while sketch lines appear on the colour of the shoe.

The model comes in two alternate colours of black and white, with different tags present on the white model, in which the white one is labelled with material measurements and labelling. The outsole is also transparent, revealing more details hidden underneath.

Both colours of the “Sketch To Shelf” will be available online on the 13th of July on Nike.com for a price of RM 579. Will you complete the whole pack?
