Adidas Celebrates Pride With The Release Of The Pride Ultraboost 19

With the ever increasing effort for inclusion into the community, brands are taking into consideration these factors and in an effort to do so, release a shoe that celebrates inclusivity.

And in the case of Adidas, it’s doing so by introducing Pride colours into its flagship running shoe, the Ultraboost 19.

The silhouette gets a half multi-colour knit on the bottom complemented by a white top crossed with orange stripes. Multi-colour accents are also present on the tongue tab while the eyestays are alternated between red and yellow. Apart from those, the silhouette bears no physical changes to it except the ones that have been introduced in the updated version of the Ultraboost 19.

The Adidas Ultraboost 19 Pride is available to purchase now only on Adidas online for a price of RM 850.

G-Shock Gives The GMW-B5000V A Weathered Look

Toughness, Personified

To be honest, there really isn’t much that needs to be changed when it comes to designing a G-SHOCK. It’s stood the test of time perfectly well, and in the age where everyone is retro obsessed, no time is more appropriate than now to stand on the far end of the digital watch scale, and with this model, it’s pretty damn far up.

Of course, the model we’re talking about is the GMW-B5000V, the perennial model of the line, but this round, has been given a Black Aged IP Treatment for a more weathered look that befits its character. The watch inherits the square shape of the first G-SHOCK while featuring a full stainless steel outer construction. The watch also includes Bluetooth connectivity and a radio antenna to receive time-calibration signals.

Neat, and most of all definitely practical. BUT, the price may be a bit steep for some. Coming in at RM 4149, some may consider it too expensive for a digital watch, but for a watch that can outlast time, it’s practically chump change.

The GMW-B5000V is available now at selected G-Factory stores now.

JD Sports Now Lets You Win Rewards By Playing Its New Mobile Game

In a bid to tap the ever growing digital commerce sphere, JD Sports has stepped up and created a game aptly called, King Of Trainers, a tile matching puzzle game that allows its players to earn real rewards as they play the game.

Playing the game is a simple one; players swipe tiles in the form of shoe boxes and match 3 or more tiles of the same colour to score points. As they rack up the points, their rankings will increase, and as the game is structured in this way, the app ensures its players to maintain a high level of ranking in order to unlock higher tier rewards, with some vouchers include a RM 300 sneaker voucher that can be redeemed when shopped in-store.

Jaclyn Tan, Head of Brand & Marketing SEA said, “We’re very excited to be launching King Of Trainers: The Game. We’ve added unique features to the game that will enable us to engage with our consumers in a fun and interactive way. As a leading fashion retailer, we are proud to be amongst the first in the field to introduce a game app that allows us to connect with our customers while rewarding them for being loyal supporters of the brand. We always work towards providing the best for our customers and we hope they thoroughly enjoy it.”

The King Of Trainers app is now available on both iOS and Android platforms.

You Will Soon Be Able To Buy An Air Jordan 1 Pre-Ripped From The Factory

The Air Jordan 1 has undergone numerous different transformations, from height, colourways, materials, physical tweaks, the results were endless. This one however, presents us with something that we haven’t exactly seen before, but is a probable next step for the Jordan.

Meet the “Tour Yellow,” a colourway placed under the “Defiant” label that takes heavily from the the DIY culture of the 80s. In reflection of this theme, Jordan Brand has effectively achieved this somewhat by ripping out 3 of the 4 swooshes on the silhouette, leaving only the medial swoosh on the left foot intact, while the others leave behind red open stitching in the shape of the Swoosh. Apart from that, the canvas remains relatively standard in black and white colourways.

The Air Jordan 1 “Tour Yellow” Defiant this Saturday, on the 27th of July on Nike.com for a retail price of RM 649.

Adidas Revives The ‘Bruised Banana’ Jersey For Arsenal’s 19/20 Away Kit

In a special nod to Arsenal’s history, Adidas have taken over PUMA as the club’s official kit sponsor for 19/20 and beyond, and its first move in the partnership is a special one, as the Three Stripes have brought back the ‘Bruised Banana’ kit from the early 90s.

The colourway was named as such, distinguished from its palette of Banana Yellow intersected with gradient patterns of Navy Blue that somewhat resembles its namesake.

The modern iteration however, reduces this gradient effect in order to place more emphasis on the yellow, while the patterns are reduced to finely dotted zigzag patterns all across the jersey. The jersey is finished off with Navy Blue collar and stripes on the shoulder.

The Arsenal Away ‘Bruised Banana’ 19/20 kit is available to purchase online on the 19th of July at 5PM for a price of RM 300.

Adidas Release Luxe Iterations Of Its Shoes In Premium Snake Skin

With the cowboy trend bucking up again into the mainstream market thanks to the explosively popularity of Lil Nas X, now is maybe the correct time to lace yourself up with some sneakers that scream nothing else except “I love the Wild West but not enough so this is a nice middle ground to express myself.” And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Which brings us to a trio of retro-futured silhouettes, namely the Yung-1, Supercourt RX, and LXCON 94 which are done up in full leather snakeskin pattern all across the upper. Yes.

Only the tan-coloured tongue serves some semblance of order throughout the complexity of the upper, while the stripes and midsole are coloured in tan as well to complement the entire colour scheme together. Very out there, is what we can summarise it as in 3 words.

The Yung-1, Supercourt RX, and LXCON94 are all available now on Adidas online for a price of RM 780 and RM 800 for the Supercourt RX.

Royal Selangor Releases A Star Wars Themed Chess Set That You Need In Your Collection

As Royal Selangor goes deeper and deeper into the treasure trove of pop culture references, the brand has come up with several collectible items worthy of your attention, one of which is this, a Star Wars pewter and glass chess set referencing characters from the 4th movie, A New Hope.

Impeccably finished too, as the chessboard is made out of tempered glass, capped with satin finished pewter feet. Determining which side is which, the Rebel Alliance is done up in a bright, polished finish while their Imperial counterparts are tinted in a darker shade. All pieces are finished with porcelain plinths in cool grey and matte black respectively.

It’ll cost you though, as this beautiful chess set comes in at a financially crippling price of RM 6,500. The model is available at all Royal Selangor stores and online.

A Closer Look At The Nike Cortez ‘Shoe Dog’ Pack

One For The History Buffs

If you’ve picked up a copy of Mark Parker’s memoir, Shoe Dog, you may have come across Parker detailing several different names before landing on the one we all know all too well, Nike.

Dimension Six, Falcon, were all names that the now CEO and co-founder Bill Bowerman had thought of and played around during the times where they were still distributing Onitsuka Tiger Corsairs under the Blue Ribbon Sports guise. Eventually, the name Nike was chosen, and in an attempt to split itself from Onitsuka Tiger altogether, created the Cortez and went on to make history.

Of course, the Cortez is probably Nike’s most significant shoe to date, and it’s only fair that this piece of history is reflected on arguably its most important model to date. The ‘Shoe Dog’ pack reflects the alternate names that the duo had thought about, and is embroidered on the medial portion of the shoe.

One to note is that the pack also includes an abnormally skinny swoosh-ed Cortez that happens to be the original designed penned by designer Carolyn Davidson. Nice nod.

The overall shoe construction also stays true to its original design, featuring an ultra-slim and sleek leather upper, leather heel tab, and rubber toe bumper, almost somewhat similar to the OT’s that they’ve been importing all this while.

Regardless, this is one for the collectors, for the Beaverton buffs, who pay homage to Swoosh, and all that it stands for. Scroll through the pictures, and stay tuned for more details.
