Missed Out On The 700 ‘Vanta?’ The 700 ‘Utility Black’ Is Dropping This Weekend

We get your concerns. What the hell is the difference between the Yeezy 700 ‘Vanta’ and the 700 ‘Utility Black?’

Yeezy 700 v2 ‘Vanta.’ Note the difference in paneling.

The answers you’re searching for lie in nothing else but the paneling on the 700. The ‘Vanta’ follows the v2 version, much like the ‘Static’ colourway, while the ‘Utility Black’ mirrors the original v1 paneling like the ‘Wave Runner,’ ‘Inertia,’ and ‘Analog.’ To be honest, the differences are barely visible to the naked eye, and its more of a preference rather than variations in design.

What’s important is that apart from the upper, the bottom remains the same, which means Boost cushioning all round for unprecedented levels of comfort. If you haven’t had a pair of Yeezys, now’s the best time to experience what the hype is all about.

The Yeezy 700 ‘Utility Black’ releases on the 29th of June at 10AM, at the Adidas Originals KLCC, Crossover Mid Valley, and Sole What Gardens for a price of RM 1400.

The New Balance 990 V5 Is A Worthy Successor To The Previous Versions I WDHANFTSY

The release of the New Balance 990 V5 raised a bit of eyebrows when it was first introduced. Gone were the intricate panelings on the lateral side of the shoe, replaced with a TPU heel strap, and the toebox is made to look a bit wedgier. However, as time passes by, it grows onto you, and has become a permanent fixture in Bryan’s rotation.

Watch the video and see the differences between the 990 V3, V4, and V5.

Dato’ Maw Speaks Of Hustlin In His New “Cari Makan” Tour

The Chinese rap scene is a small one, and the journey to the top is often a very steep one that only a handful have ever managed to hit. The hustle never stops though, and with the rappers in dwindling numbers, the race to to keep the scene alive is a real challenge. Dato’ Maw recognises this, and has detailed his experiences in his mini EP titled Cari Makan.

“The concept of CARI MAKAN tour is based on the struggles of Malaysian artist, especially Chinese rap artist. It’s hard to survive based on music alone, if you are unlucky, u might never made it, but even though you kinda made it, it’s still a hard journey ahead cause based on the scene and market over here, it’s impossible to made a decent living out of it. That’s what i feel and wanted to write about, and the collaboration with Tiger Beer finally got me finished off the whole song, combined with previous un-released songs, i decided to just put out a mini EP,” says Dato Maw.

“ It’s my 2nd time touring, most artist have given up finding a living over here in Malaysia. But still, we need somebody to represent every local music genre, and somebody still gotta be that person, I rather that person who represent cina hip hop to be me. The 1st tour was fulfilling, so I’ve decided to go for the 2nd time. But the thing is I’m in Beijing for “Rap of China” competition, so this is my 1st time doing a tour before releasing the EP.”

Longtime friends Jaake and Franco.$ are at hands to produce all of the tracks on the EP, while Beeman from famed group ManHand has a verse feature in Cari Makan.

To catch a little bit of the hustle, Dato Maw will be performing alongside his peers in collaboration with TNTCO’s 6th Anniversary at Shuang Xi on the 30th of June at night.

The Air Jordan 1 ‘Paris To NY’ Gets A Restock

Double Up?

After the surprise drop of the ‘L.A To Chicago’ colourway, Jordan Brand is restocking the its sister colourway, the ‘Paris To NY’ version, which features a light grey top that slowly fades to salmon with more and more abrasions on its surface, or one can circumvent the abuse and rub off the exterior paint with acetone. Of course, the proper way o get such abrasions is through skating, as hinted by the Nike SB tags on the tongue and the insole. A significant homage, as before SB existed, skaters used the Air Jordan 1s as it met all of their criterias for a perfect skate shoe.

In this sense then, you have two colourways for the price one, a smattering bargain on literally any Jordan you can find on the market today.

The Air Jordan 1 ‘Paris To NY’ retails for RM 649 and dropping on the 26th of June on Nike.com.

The Nike X MMW Free TR 3 Allows For Versatility In Almost Any Urban Condition

For When You Have Gym At 7 But Trail Running At 8

Matthew Williams isn’t showing signs of stopping soon, and the next iteration of his MMW subbrand with Nike shows that he’s only getting started. Much like Alyx’s concept of modularity and technical craft, the MMW X Nike follows up with a more athletic outlook, that’s not only high fashion, but functional as well.

Williams has created two variations of the Nike Free TR 3 SPs, 2 colourways exclusively for women, while the others is for men. The women’s pair ditches the laces in favour for a sock like construction and adds translucent paneling that provides a bit of a window through to the inners. The men’s version throws away the Flyknit in favour of a more solid material, while including trail-ready speed lacing system with a medial zipper. Both types include a detachable crampon to add usage flexibility and extends the sneaker’s ability in all types of terrain.

“We are proud to have collaborated with Vibram on the detachable crampon rubber sole, which allows for the shoe to be used as a minimal trainer inside of a gym or as a resilient boot on city streets or park trails,” said Williams.

The Nike X MMW Free TR 3 releases on the 26 June 2019 on Nike.com for an approximate price of RM 1400.

CONFIRMED: The Stranger Things X Nike Pack Is Releasing Here Soon

To be honest, we couldn’t think of anything else befitting the theme of retro sneakers with a tv show set in the same era, but that match just happened when Stranger Things came along and decided on a collab.

For now, 2 of the 6 in the Stranger Things pack is out, namely the Tailwind and the Cortez, but we will update this article as news releases on the other 4 models. Let’s talk about the Tailwind.

In the midst of a serious retro revival, the Tailwind and its cohorts are shoved right into the limelight as Nike’s highlight sneaker of 2019, and its at the epicentre of almost everything that Nike does. This half of the pack specifically, reflects the colours of Hawkins High School, highlighted by green and orange colours, adorned with the school patch on the heel of the shoe. In the case of the Tailwind, green takes a primary role, while the orange accents ensure it stands out like no other Tailwind before it.

The Cortez however, remains relatively unchanged, safe for the green swoosh, and orange highlights that marks that this isn’t unlike any other Cortez. Both models have co-branding on the tongue, as well as special insoles that highlight more of the collab.

Admittedly, the sneakers do look relatively GR, with only tell tale signs informing others that this is in fact, a collaborative model, but then again, no other colourway has existed on these pairs before, hence for those who know, know.

The Nike Tailwind and Cortez are set to release on the 27th of June, for a price of RM 495 and RM 329 approximately, at Nike.com.

Futuremade Studio Ventures Into More Pastel Colours In Its “Flower Happy” Collection

The Futuremade Studio aesthetic doesn’t really stray away from its core concepts and designs, but then again, why should it? When everything mixes so well together, why fix something that’s not broken?

That’s exactly what Tunway wanted to reflect in his latest lookbook, combining the brand’s staple neutral hues amongst a plethora of pastel backgrounds, inverting the palette inside out to bring focus towards the neutral spectrum.

New pieces include a cargo shirt with multiple compartments, relaxed blazer, and C-1 vest in multiple colours.

Have a look through the pictures and if you want to buy the collection, head on to Futuremade’s website.

Givenchy X Onitsuka Tiger Is Your Next Level Flex

Retailing At RM 2800

Kiko Kostadinov may be a bit too bold for some, and Vivienne Westwood can spell wardrobe meltdown if you don’t know how to style properly, so Givenchy is called to give that safe middle ground for wearers who want the luxury touch, without having to think of what to match it with.

And that’s what was done with Onitsuka Tiger’s Mexico 66 model, offering an elevated outlook upon a simple model that has been in existence for the longest time.

Of course, pairing up with a renowned house such as Givenchy, the collab spared no cost on the materials, employing the use of high quality leather all round, with simple branding in the form of perforated ‘Givenchy’ in the medial portion, with Givenchy X Onitsuka branding on the tongue and heel flap.

Two colourways form the pack, with the black featuring alternately coloured tongue and heel flap, whereas the white is kept as clean as possible with no interference of colour whatsoever. When a silhouette is this iconic, there’s no need to bastardise it.

The Givenchy X Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 is available now at Givenchy’s online store for a simple price of RM 2800.
