Malaysian Viner Naddysushi Releases “Banana Love” Single

In case you didn’t know, Malaysian viner Naddy Zamani, famously known as Naddysushi, recently released her very first single titled “Banana Love“. Yes, a viner turned artist, would you look at that! Her single was produced and directed by Paranormal Records. We came across to this video when the Malay Vine Facebook page shared her upbeat song about love. She even invited other favourite Malaysian viners like Artiq Qid, Luqman Podolski, Adib Alex, Eusoffians, Nodroh Zomono and many more to participate in the video.

The song is yet another cliché, mainstream pop creation that will nevertheless be considered catchy and well-loved by some. The inclusion of the saxophone playing toward the end of the song is a very nice touch, though.

Don’t forget to follow Naddysushi on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more updates.

“There For Me” by Ivory Aisle

Newly formed Malaysian rock band Ivory Aisle has released their first ever single on Youtube titled “There For Me”. The band consists of ex-I.Revival (which is now called Young Thousands) bassist Adam Mohd, guitarist Matthew Chia from ARC (A Ruthless Cleansing), Afiq Zakaria on vocals and Cassidy from Heart Meets Hurricane on drums.

There hasn’t been any news from the band on whether an EP or album is in the works, but their single has thus far garnered a positive reception from fellow musicians and listeners alike.

Based on their first single, the band sounds like the result of a collision between An Honest Mistake’s mainstream sound and the vocals of Sleeping With Sirens. Give the video below a view to see if you agree!

Episode Two “Conquer From Within” by KOZO

Inspired by women who gain an implacable sense of self worth by finding the confidence and strength within themselves, KOZO has released it’s second collection that boasts bold silhouettes called “Conquer From Within”.

Most of the collection seems to deviate from form-fitting silhouettes designed to accentuate one’s proportions and instead plays strongly on asymmetry and “looseness”. KOZO opted for simplicity with the collection’s colour palette which consists of white, blue, green and black. A minimalist style also persists across each of these casual chic pieces, with a sense of airiness to many of them such as the Kimono V-Neck Top.

The star piece of the collection, however, is the versatile “Cait” jumpsuit that can be worn in three different ways and has detachable straps.

The prices for the attires under “Conquer From Within” range from RM159 to RM199. The garments are available at FABSPY in Mid Valley and ThisAppear Plus in Bangsar. For more information and updates do follow Kozo here.

AL!F “Mama” New Music Video

Mother’s Day may have come and gone, though surely it’s never too late to show your love and appreciation for the one who brought you into the world. “Every day is Mother’s Day,” as some would say, and we bet it’s something local rapper AL!F believes in wholeheartedly. This week, AL!F uploaded a video titled “Mama” as a tribute to his late mother who made a world of difference to him, and without her his own world is left darker, emptier. It’s a song that will tug at your heartstrings, not just because of the meaningful lyrics but also due to the utter sincerity and emotion in which AL!F commits to the song.

Directed by Ghaz Abu Bakar from The Media Hustler, the video also portrays many heartwarming pictures of his mother between intervals of AL!F seen rapping in front of a large LED screen projecting portions of the lyrics. We’d be surprised if the video doesn’t possess you with an urge to shed a few tears or make you want to give your mum a hug.

Don’t forget to check out his song or any updates on AL!F official page here.

Custom Ducati Scrambler “Dirty Fellow Cafe Racer” by Beautiful Machines

Modifications on automotives are a dime a dozen, but this particular overhaul of a once roughed up motorcycle is a cut above conventional custom jobs. Priding themselves on unique and expressive modification works, the guys from Beautiful Machines managed to morph a decrepit Ducati Scrambler into an eye-popping, ridable work of art.

The bike, now called the “Dirty Fellow Cafe Racer”, received a redesigned and fabricated tailend, a rerouted exhaust system and a new hand-stitched seat. The bike is rather petite yet somehow manages to exudes tons of masculinity, though that’s not to say that this is a man’s bike alone. Another unique feature is that the bike now boasts a sculptured, one-of-a-kind tank that was constructed specifically for it.

Do take a look at more of Beautiful Machines’ awesome motorcycle modifications over at their official Facebook page here.

“Tanah Asing” through the lens of Syahmi Norsan

Nature has a way of mending the fatigue imposed by the modern lifestyle, as one local filmmaker recently discovered. Arrested by the need to liberate himself from the urban jungle of Kuala Lumpur,  Syahmi Norsan and his colleague went on an escapade to a part of Indonesia left relatively untouched by civilization. Their collective memories have taken form as a short film called “Tanah Asing”, or foreign land.

“We left Kuala Lumpur for Surabaya and then to Bali. It took us 8 days of travelling; we wanted to witness the beauty of nature along the way and escape the crazy concrete jungle. I’ve always wanted to film a journey of mine, so this trip felt like the perfect time to do that,” said Syahmi.

Taking his A7S with Nikon FM2 with him for the trip to Indonesia, Syahmi notes that he drew inspiration for “Tanah Asing” from “Loving Lanka“, a film by one of his favourite filmmakers, Sebastina Linda.

“Tanah Asing is about experiencing a foreign land with zero expectations. It also intends to convey the message of ‘menikmati itu bila kau mengerti untuk menghayati’, meaning that in order to enjoy the moment you need to understand true appreciation first. I’ve met with a lot of nice people and saw beautiful places. To me, the journey isn’t counted by miles but by memories” said Syahmi.

If you loved the short film, don’t forget to check out his other works too on his official blog here.
